Pastoral Care
The strong Pastoral Care System in St Angela’s College is rooted in the ethos, values and rich traditions of our school. Values such as respect for all, equality, inclusivity, support, guidance and nurturing the academic, social and spiritual needs of each individual are central to our community.
St. Angela’s prides itself in being a caring community where interactions between staff and students are characterised by mutual respect. Students experiencing difficulties are encouraged to seek help in the knowledge that they will be treated with sensitivity and supported in dealing with their problems.
The key elements of our pastoral care system are the Learning Monitors, Class Teachers, the Student Council, the Meitheal Team, Learning Support Department and the Guidance Counsellor. These are supported by subject teachers, Anti-bullying Team, ancillary staff e.g. coaches etc., parents, and outside agencies if, and when, appropriate.
According to students Pastoral Care in St Angela’s is;
‘Taking Care of each other in school.’
‘How the school looks after us’.
