TY SPRING Project featured in The Echo.
On Friday April 27th we travelled to Dublin for the All- Ireland play-offs in Loreto Foxrock that were held on Saturday April 28th. The tournament consisted of 3 games to qualify for the All- Ireland Semi Final. We played Loreto Foxrock, Holy Faith Clontarf, and Colaiste na Sceilge Caherciveen. Unfortunately on this occasion, the girls were unsuccessful in their bid to qualify out of their group. A great weekend of basketball was enjoyed by the girls but the trip to Hollister in Dundrum could have possibly been the highlight!!! Our bus driver, Tom, could not understand how girls could say in one shop for so long!
The First Year All-Ireland Playoffs took place at the University of Limerick on Saturday and Sunday May 5th and 6th. The tournament consisted of 3 games on the Saturday. We played Presentation Tralee, Colaiste Isogain, and Presentation Thurles. After placing 2nd in our group we qualified for the All- Ireland quarter finals on Sunday morning against Colaiste Choilm Ballincollig. The girls battled hard in every quarter but unfortunately losing out to the team that won the All- Ireland later that day. The girls did very well to reach the final 8 in the competition. It was great to see how much the girls progressed from the start of the year. Well done.
