TY SPRING Project featured in The Echo.
On Monday 22nd October 2012, all fifth year students attended a writing workshop in Fota House, east Cork. After a presentation on the different types of language, the classes were split into two groups; the land owning aristocratic Anglo-Irish “Smith Barry” family, and their servants. Each group was given a tour of the house and gardens, all the while learning about the daily routines of those that lived there. The workshop opened up the world of 18th and 19th century Ireland and provided students with lots of inspiration for their mid-term projects!
