On January 26th, Kelly Diggin led St Angela’s College to All-Ireland Schools U-19 ‘A’ glory at the National Basketball Arena, where they were too strong for Dubliners Colaiste Iosagain.

The majority of Diggins’ 14 points came in the third quarter, during which the Leesiders pull away from the girls from the capital.
Coached by Neptune star Ger Noonan, St Angela’s had to endure some second-quarter pressure from the Stillorgan Road outfit, with Rachael Toland de Burca and Jessica Ni Thoibin proving influential.
But their 18-16 lead was shortlived as Michelle Dilworth put down a marker, before Diggins scored 10 points on the trot. Colaiste Iosagain had no response and Diggins and Eimear Twomey sealed a 46-29 win.
