Principal’s Welcome
Rooted in tradition. Inspired by possibility.
Focused on the future.
At St Angela’s College we believe every young woman has the potential to thrive, lead and make a difference. Guided by the Ursuline tradition and the values of Welcome, Wisdom and Witness, our school nurtures confident, compassionate and capable young women ready to shape the future. As Principal, and on behalf of the dedicated staff and Board of Management, I warmly welcome you to St Angela’s College. We hope that as you explore our website you will gain a sense of the vibrant, caring and inclusive school community that defines life in St Angela’s.
St Angela’s College is an Ursuline secondary school under the trusteeship of Le Chéile Schools Trust, located on the historic heights of St Patrick’s Hill overlooking Cork city. Since 1887, our school has been committed to the education and empowerment of young women. Inspired by the vision of Angela Merici, we encourage our students to develop confidence, character and compassion, while striving to reach their full potential.
While St Angela’s has a strong reputation for academic excellence, we believe education must be holistic. Alongside high standards in teaching and learning, we encourage students to participate fully in the sporting, cultural, creative and spiritual life of the school. In doing so, students discover their talents, build lasting friendships and grow in confidence.
Our curriculum continues to evolve to meet the changing needs of students and society. Through ongoing innovation and reflection, we strive to ensure that every student is prepared not only for further education but also for the opportunities and challenges of the future.
As a Catholic school we value faith formation, reflection and opportunities for prayer and liturgy throughout the year. At the same time, we warmly welcome students of all faiths and none, recognising that diversity enriches the life of our school community.
Looking to the future, St Angela’s continues to grow and evolve. The opening of an Autism Special Class will further strengthen our commitment to inclusion and belonging, while plans for a future extension will enhance the learning environment for generations of students to come. We are intentionally creating space for young girls who experience the world differently, girls who are capable, intelligent and full of potential, but who may require a more structured and supportive environment in order to flourish. and confident in their own worth. In doing so, we reaffirm a simple but powerful truth: belonging is at the heart of education.
The strong reputation of St Angela’s College is built on the dedication of our staff, the partnership of parents and the support of our wider community. Together we encourage our students to aim high, to care for others and to make a positive contribution to society.
We invite you to visit St Angela’s College and experience first-hand the welcoming and supportive environment that makes our school such a special place to learn and grow. If the first decade in our new building was about growth and renewal, the next will be defined by depth, depth of inclusion, depth of opportunity, depth of understanding and depth of care.
At St Angela’s College, every student is known, supported and encouraged to become the very best version of herself — confident in her abilities, compassionate in her relationships and ready to make a positive difference in the world.
