After several years of a break, Camogie was reintroduced to St. Angela’s College in 2011-2012.  First years through to fourth years participated in various competitions.  The year started brightly with a combined 1st and 2nd year team, which got to the final of a blitz in Glanmire, and proudly represented their school.  Other destinations included Ballincollig, Mallow and Blackrock, where they participated with skill, determination and pride.  The year ended in Mallow in a blitz, where St. Angela’s lost out to a much bigger team, who eventually went on to the final.  However, the future looks bright for camogie in St. Angela’s if the current players continue to practice and play together, as players have a wealth of skill and ability.

Congratulations to Sinéad Mills and Lorna Hickey who were involved with Cork Schoolgirls.   Congratulations also to Aisling Wallace and Essie O Connell who both were awarded Camogie awards from the school in 2012. Special thanks must go to Collins’ Barracks, who allowed use of their pitch for camogie activities.  Such support proved essential in ensuring camogie’s reintroduction to St. Angela’s.
