St Angela’s Green School Committee are encouraging all staff and students to take part in our clothing collection and also the collection of batteries and other small electrical items, between 5th – 9th December. Any clothing donated will be collected by Clothes Pod, an organisation working in partnership with Green Schools Ireland. Any batteries and electrical items will be recycled through WEEE Ireland, which specialises in the recycling of electrical items. Please bring in any old batteries as well as small electrical items – e.g. hair dryer/styling equipment, kettles, toasters, phone charger, electrical wires, Christmas tree lights – any electrical item small enough to carry. These collections are part of on-going work on the theme of “Litter and Waste”, where our focus is to raise awareness and further educate on all issues around the correct management of waste. All items can be dropped off at reception between 8.15am – 8.50am, where members of the Green Schools Committee will be available to receive any items. Everyone who donates at least one item of either clothing/battery/electrical item, will be entered into a draw, where 5 lucky winners will each receive a prize. Please use this opportunity to avoid sending these items to landfill. Thank you from the Green Schools Committee.
