Together with the Irish Second-Level Students’ Union, the Student Council is organising the option of receiving a globally recognised ID for post-primary students through the school. This is open to all year groups – the only requirement being that you are enrolled in our school. This International Student Identity Card (ISIC) is an official identity card and is endorsed by the EU, UN and UNESCO, It is valid in 120 countries and gives access to 130,000 discounts, as well as proof of age for public transport etc. The cost is €15 and the card is valid for 12 months. The Student Council representatives in each class will speak to their classes about the initiative over the coming days and take names of those students who wish to obtain the card. Students will then be given a form and asked to fill in their their Name, Date of Birth, School etc on it. We will then organise for each student’s photograph to be taken in school by members of ISSU on an assigned day. We would ask that if your daughter wishes to order an ID card, that she would speak to her Student Council representative as soon as possible. We expect the turnaround time to be c.2 weeks from date of photograph. Please refer to the the website at https://www.isic.org/ for further information.
