A huge congratulations to Transition Year students Ciara Scannell, Emily Teahan, Cliona Marshall and Clodagh Hegarty. The girls have created an incredible dress for the Junk Kouture competition, showing their Rebel pride! They have been invited to feature the dress in the Dublin St Patrick’s Day parade. Well done on this achievement girls!
The design team explain their dress as follows:
“The dress represents inner beauty and delicateness, juxtaposed by angular accessories. It has a flowing shirt & a long hoop skirt. The skirt utilizes a ruffled texture. The crest depicts the strong identity and team spirit. The accessories carry the focal message. It represents the synchronicities with gentleness & strength. People are taught that these qualities cannot coexist, the design aims to shatter these misconceptions. The shoes are patterned with batteries for power. The whistle earrings show comments that women in sport hear. The flowers & color represent the design”.
