In late September, St. Angela’s College was again invited to participate in the 2024 annual Cork and Ross Diosesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes along with 2 other secondary schools.
The 7 girls selected were exemplary in embracing the daily duties and tasks assigned to them from the very first moments.
Long days and inevitable tiredness were met with enthusiasm, smiling faces and joyful energy. This did not go unnoticed by all on pilgrimage who commented often on their wonderful spirit of generosity.
The days flew by marked by rotas with the assisted pilgrims at the hospital, accompanying the assisted pilgrims in the evening candlelit Rosary Processions in several languages, praying the stations of the Cross along the banks of the river Gave and not least participating in the very special Diosesan Group Mass at the Grotto celebrated by Bishop Fintan.
The girls reverence and sincerity was a joy to behold.
The ‘Lourdes glow’ had once again left it’s mark on all of us fortunate enough to be part of this extraordinary spiritual experience.
