A warm welcome to our new Student Council. Class Teachers have presented to their classes, students have cast their votes and the nominations for 2 representatives from each class are now ratified and awarded their roles for the coming year. The Induction Day was a great day of getting to know each other, understanding the legacy and tradition of what the Student Council is, how it connects to the many parts that make up our school and what its role is all about. Junior and Senior Council members spent the day considering what it means to be a leader, what skills and attributes each person brings to the group this year, while also learning how to embody and reflect our school’s ethos in all that they do. The students, familiarising themselves with their various activities and duties, began to plan tasks around the year ahead. In the afternoon, a very special facilitator, Martin Kenneally, came to do 2 hour workshop on Leadership and Management Training with the girls. The energy, fun, creativity and commitment in the room was indicative of what a great representative group this year’s Council will be!
