Reminder of School Closure tomorrow Friday 3rd May
Dear Parents/ Guardians, as part of this year’s Transition Year experience, we are encouraging all students to register for the Gaisce President’s Bronze Award.
The Award is a self-directed personal development programme in which participants are supported and mentored by a more experienced person, a volunteer, a President’s Award Leader (PAL), to set and achieve a personal challenge over a period of time.
The Award comprises of four areas in which students set and pursue personal goals:
Community Involvement
Personal Skills
Physical Recreation
Adventure Journey
Teachers will oversee and direct students throughout the year to achieve these goals. The “Adventure Journey” will be a whole-year outdoor challenge, that we are hoping to complete in November.
The cost of registration is €15.

When asked to submit the name of the PAL in your school, type Geraldine Mc Donald, gmcdonald@stangelascollege.ie as Ms Mc Donald has worked with Gaisce for many years .
Once registered, students can begin their Gaisce journey in earnest by deciding where and what they will do as part of the challenges.
