The TY Student Council did an interview with Mairéad Twohig from Cork’s 96FM regarding their recently launched initiative on the provision of Sanitary Products for all students and staff in the school. Having successfully managed their project – ‘Know Your Flow – Here to Ensure You’re Secure’ – as far as seeing the dispensers installed and stocked, the purpose of their interview was to inspire other schools and organisations to do the same, and to encourage the Government to provide funding and grants to support them in doing so. The girls spoke with such knowledge, conviction and enthusiasm, we couldn’t but be proud of them!
‘A successful campaign by the TY Student Council at a Cork secondary school has resulted in sanitary products being freely available in all student and staff bathrooms. The group of students at St Angela’s College now want all schools and workplaces to experience the same positive impact. Our news reporter Mairead Twohig has been to the school”.
