Our Senior and Junior Councils are planning a number of events to mark International Women’s Day on March 8th. And would love for our school community to get involved.
The day marks a celebration of achievement, a raising of awareness against bias and encourages discussion around equality and equity internationally. The international theme this year is #EmbraceEquity. As part of their initiatives to highlight the importance of this day, each year the Council chooses a word that they feel best represents their focus and ambition around IWD. This year the Council’s chosen word is NEART – Ní neart go cur le chéile. (the Irish word for Strength – There is no strength without unity.)
We would love students, staff and parents to get involved and submit a photo of an inspirational female figure to the TY Student Council word collage. The photos are placed in collage form inside the letters and are then displayed in various ways around the school. Please add your photo to – https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/15hXur2QrUAL9dlVpjAx674hMl3XCTkWJ
This woman of inspiration can be known to you personally or someone in the public eye. Closing date to submit your chosen image is Wednesday, February 22nd.
So have a think, get involved and please click on the link!
Thank you from the TY Student Council – Grace, Hollie, Kate, Elizabeth, Ellen, Kate, Tamsin and Beth.
