Annual TY “Thank you” coffee morning for all the Priests who Minister in our school
On the 22nd of September a group of fifth year students: Elizabeth Murphy, Kate O’Sullivan, Grace Murphy, Anna Barrett, Maria O’Donovan and Blaitin McNulty, along with teachers Ms Whelan and Ms M. Murphy, went on a pilgrimage to Lourdes in France. They went as part of the Cork and Ross Diocesian Pilgrimage.
The pilgrimage was six days in total. They were working with the assisted pilgrimages in the hospital on the grounds of the Sanctuary. The girls were helping Assisted Pilgrims to travel around Lourdes in wheelchairs, bringing them to and from masses, processions, and around the town to do some shopping. The students also participated in the masses on the pilgrimage; altar serving, reading the prayers of the faithful and giving the gifts.
Whilst in Lourdes the girls also enjoyed the light procession in the evenings, having tea with the pilgrims, sing-songs in the hospital and spending time shopping and exploring the town of Lourdes. It was an incredible experience that they will never forget.
