St Angela’s College Green-Schools Day of Action took place on Wednesday 26th Feb. This event was an opportunity for the entire school to focus on the current theme of Water, and have some fun along the way. To kick start the day, the Green-Schools Committee and some TY students went on a Walk for Water on what turned out to be a beautiful crisp Spring morning. Each student carried 5 litres of water for the duration of the walk and by the end of it, they were very grateful that the in Ireland we only have to walk to the tap for clean water, unlike in other countries where women have to walk many kilometres daily to bring back clean water for their families. There was a great sense of gratitude after the walk. The remainder of the day was filled with a table quiz for each Year Group involving a range of questions , all water based, but also linking in to various other subjects . There was a winning table per Year Group, with some having to participate in a tie-breaker round to secure a victory. The 1st Year Green School Committee members were very busy correcting and keeping scores, and some even took on the role of MC and did an amazing job. Well done to everyone involved in this event.
