Last Friday, our school celebrated International Women’s Day 2025. Huge credit goes to the hardworking members of the Student Council, the Reading Revolution, and the Transition Year CUMH project for their outstanding efforts in organising and leading this event. Through their dedication and creativity, we were able to mark this important occasion in a meaningful and inspiring way.
We were fortunate to welcome 9 inspirational speakers from various backgrounds, whose stories and insights empowered us all to reflect on the strength, resilience, and achievements of women in so many different career areas and pursuits. Their words have left a lasting impression, reminding us of the importance of empowering, encouraging and supporting each other.
The celebration featured a variety of activities, from quizzes and posters to a Coffee Morning for our Student Council, guests and staff. Students showcased their creativity and communicated powerful messages of empowerment. They wrote content and delivered speeches and presentations and even produced a slideshow – our students truly brought their talents to the forefront.
As part of the celebrations, we also hosted a fundraiser for Féileacáin, a charity dedicated to supporting families who have experienced stillbirth and neonatal death. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we raised €1206.07 for this meaningful cause, which will have a lasting impact.
We hope these celebrations have inspired our students to continue to strive for greatness, support one another, and be the change-makers in their communities. It’s moments like these that make us so proud to be part of such a driven and compassionate school community. We thank all of our students for their outstanding contributions and for showing us what true leadership, creativity, and collaboration can look like. Together, we hope to continue to empower each other and work towards a more equal world.
