We are excited to inform you that through the work of our Student Council, we will be celebrating International Women’s Day tomorrow. This is a special occasion dedicated to honouring the achievements, contributions, and importance of women around the world. We feel it is important to take the opportunity to emphasise the importance of gender equality to our students and the role it plays in shaping a fair and inclusive society. We encourage parents to continue the conversation at home, reinforcing the principles of equality, respect, and inclusivity. Together, we can create a positive impact and inspire our students, your children, to become active advocates for gender equality in their communities and their career choices.
As tomorrow is a No Uniform day, we encourage our students to wear as much purple as possible, as purple is the representative colour of IWD. This No Uniform Day is also a fundraiser for our chosen charity – Féileacáin. Students are asked to contribute €2 on the way into school tomorrow morning or through the school app. The Student Council chose the word VOICE and designed a logo representing the importance of individual and collective voices to bring about positive change in our world today. Thank you for your support and we wish everyone in the St Angela’s community as very Happy International Women’s Day 2025. #AccelerateAction
