Senior Cycle history students recently visited the cities of Derry & Belfast with a view to deepening their understanding of the complexities of war and peace in Northern Ireland. They enjoyed a guided walking tour of Derry, where they took in the famous walls, cannons & murals, and visited museums associated with both sides of the conflict. They took part in the educational programme at Stormont Parliament Buildings where they got to meet MLA Robbie Butler, before taking a tour of the Falls Road, Shankill Road and signing the famous peace wall. They even managed to experience the breathtaking sights of the GIants Causeway before making their way home again! A jam packed tour that was both educational and rewarding for all!
