Dear Parents/ Guardians,
I would like to update you on some TY activities that we have planned and to outline our Covid-19 protocols in relation to same.
All TYs are invited to participate in two whole-day activities at Ballyhass Lakes, Mallow on Tuesday 20th of October and again on Thursday, 22nd of October. The following precautions will be necessary to ensure your daughter’s safety during these trips:
-Parents are to complete and sign the attached form in advance of the trip, which confirms that students have conformed to HSE protocols in relation to Covid-19
-Students will be allocated a seat on the bus to ensure adequate social distancing. The wearing of a face covering will be required during bus journeys.
-Students will be split into groups of 15 or less for both days. All activities will be organised on a rotating basis to ensure that groups can maintain social distancing.
-Students will be allocated a dedicated instructor for their group, who will, where possible, remain with that group for the duration of the activities.
-Students will eat lunch with the same group, in staggered blocks and under the supervision of their St Angela’s College teachers.
-Hand sanitizing stations have been set up at various locations around the site in Ballyhass. Students are encouraged to sanitize frequently throughout the day.
-The seating allocations and group divisions will not be altered between Tuesday and Thursday to allow for accurate contact tracing, should this arise.
TY students will also participate in an Orienteering activity, which will take place on the 9th of November in the city centre. An in-house Poetry workshop for each class group will also take place on Thursday and Friday of the same week.
I am currently planning the Gaisce Adventure Journey, which will take the form of a hike – I hope to have this activity completed this term also.
Kind regards,
Sinead O’ Donovan
